Studio Pilates International has exposed  the secret to flat abs.

Gudrun Olivier, owner of the Hamilton studio at the riverside retail and dining precinct of Portside Wharf, said there was a fundamental but critically important way to train the core to achieve a flat stomach.

She said this method in achieving washboard abs was overlooked 95 per cent  of the time in gym-based workouts.

“Transversus Abdominus (TA) is the most important but the least trained layer of stomach muscle,” she said.

“It is essential and vital to target and train it in terms of flattening and toning the stomach.

“The TA gives the body the appearance of being thinner without actually having lost any weight or fat.

Studio Pilates International provides a total body transformation, with a lot of emphasis on activating and training the TA and pelvic floor muscles.

It’s the reason glamour girls such as  Gisele Bündchen, Jennifer Hawkins, Madonna, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and the Victoria’s Secret models are avid Pilates disciples.

“In order to rock a flat stomach, a strong core acts as your body’s powerhouse,” said Gudrun.

“The total body transformation is not only facilitating movement, but also protecting inner organs and the central nervous system.

“It provides balance and stability, gives you a strong, confident posture and helps with injury prevention and back pain.”

Studio Pilates International Hamilton has a special introductory offer to new clients of six classes for $60.

“Enjoy a total body workout with high intensity 40 minute classes, world class instructors, and a totally glam studio,” said Gudrun.

“And get yourself some sexy, flat abs that will make you the envy of all your friends.”

Studio Pilates International is located at the boutique shopping and dining precinct of Portside Wharf which is home to more than 35 retailers including a Dendy Cinema, IGA supermarket, Jetts Fitness, Ella Bache, Urbbana Men’s Style Studio and Bou’s for Men barber as well as restaurants and cafes including Sono, Byblos, Gusto da Gianni, The Burrito Bar, Aamaya Indian Restaurant and Bamboo Basket.
