A brand new Subway Restaurant has opened its doors in the popular Portside Wharf precinct, continuing the brand’s reputation of serving a healthier, convenient alternative to traditional fast food.
Local Franchisee John Miles and his wife Cathy have been offering freshly made sandwiches for over a decade, having owned four Subway Restaurants on the north side of Brisbane.
Mr Miles said he and his wife Cathy were proud to open a restaurant in this exciting new riverside development.
”I think customers will really appreciate the convenience, good value and quality that we offer, especially considering it’s so easy to park at Portside Wharf, grab something, and go,” he said.
“I became a Subway Franchisee over 15 years ago because I saw a great opportunity to become part of a respected, worldwide brand – the product quality is something that I can proudly stand behind.”
Mr Miles said Subway Portside will be offering the same great products that have made the brand a success over the last 25 years in Australia.
“We will of course be offering the things that Subway is famous for – freshly baked bread & cookies, crisp freshly made salads, and quality ingredients. It’s all right there, made right in front of you, every single day,” he said.
“This includes a range of great value $7.00 Footlong Subs; premium, indulgent options like the Chicken Parmigiana or Steak and Cheese; and a range of delicious, gooey, freshly baked cookies.”
Focusing on quality and service, John and the team, which includes son Ben, who has worked in the family business for the last 15 years, have many plans in mind for the future of the restaurant including extended hours, breakfast and dinner promotions, catering & delivery, and an official opening celebration to welcome customers with free subs in the coming weeks.
“My goal is to keep customers satisfied by providing great tasting food in a comfortable environment with the best service possible. After that, we hope to open more stores in the future,” Mr Miles said.
Lee Butterworth, Project Director for Brookfield Residential Properties, which is developing Portside Wharf, said Subway would add to the diverse mix of retail already on offer in the precinct.
“It is fantastic for the Portside Wharf precinct to have a brand of the calibre and reputation of Subway come on board,” he said.
“It will also help to broaden the current food and dining options in the precinct, and give customers a new ‘fast’ alternative.
“Portside Wharf has become one of Brisbane’s premier riverfront dining, shopping and entertainment destinations and with a growing residential population in the surrounding area, it is important that we cater to a wide variety of tastes and budgets.”
Portside Wharf is also home to a range of premier restaurants and cafes, fashion boutiques, Dendy Cinemas, IGA Supermarket, Movenpick Icecream, Jetts Fitness and Ella Bache.
