The State Government has unveiled plans to turn Kingsford Smith Drive into a six lane boulevard demonstrating its commitment to the ongoing development of Northshore Hamilton.

Brookfield Residential Properties Regional Director Lee Butterworth said the large investment in infrastructure from the government would be a huge boost for Portside Wharf, increasing accessibility and making it more attractable for buyers.

The waterfront retail and residential precinct along the Brisbane River in Hamilton is one of Brisbane’s most sought-after destinations for boutique shopping, fine dining and luxury living.

Mr Butterworth said Portside Wharf was the beating heart of the entire Northshore Hamilton development and offered riverfront living at its best.

“The Queensland Government is investing around $650 million to turn Kingsford Smith Drive into a six lane boulevard through to Newstead with a pedestrian, walking and cycle track crossing the river,” he said.

“An enormous infrastructure investment like this demonstrates absolute commitment by the government, ensuring Northshore Hamilton continues to grow as Brisbane’s largest master planned, integrated residential community and urban renewal project.

“Located in the heart of this project is Portside Wharf, sitting just six kilometres from the CBD, 15 minutes from the Brisbane Airport and within easy reach of the Gateway Motorway and CityCat.

“The waterside boutique shopping and dining precinct sits in an enviable pocket of Brisbane that boasts the ultimate in convenience and lifestyle. It’s a location that is hard to beat.”

Apartments in Portside Wharf’s most recent stage, Pinnacle are available from $595,000 with a display apartment set to open in the coming weeks. Bookings will be essential and can be arranged through the sales and information centre.

Portside Wharf is home to boutique retailers such as Dendy Cinema, IGA supermarket, Jetts Fitness, Ella Bache, Urbbana Men’s Style Studio and Bou’s for Men barber as well as waterfront restaurants and eateries including Sono, Byblos, Gusto da Gianni, The Burrito Bar, Aamaya Indian Restaurant and Bamboo Basket.
