Portside Wharf continues to cement itself as a premier dining destination, with new restaurant, Belvedere Bar and Grill, now open at the riverfront precinct.
Situated on the boardwalk by the Brisbane River, Belvedere combines stylish dining with casual eating as it incorporates a large deck with an upmarket restaurant complete with a cellar, chic bar and the “Plumm Room” for small functions.
Brisbane restaurateur, Gianni Greghini is behind the new eatery. Belvedere is Gianni’s second restaurant at Portside Wharf, alongside the popular Italian restaurant, Gusto da Gianni which he opened four years ago.
Co-owner, Cosimo Carvignese has moved to Brisbane from Melbourne where he has had three successful restaurants, and brings with him a wealth of experience gained spending many years abroad.
Cosimo said the idea behind Belvedere is to give guests a variety of dining options.
“Guests of Belvedere are spoilt for choice,” he said.
“Be it a sumptuous sit-down dinner in our stylish restaurant, a function in our Plumm Room or a casual drink and plate of nibbles on our huge outdoor deck, there is something to suit every palate, every occasion and every mood.
“Our huge 120 square metre deck is the perfect place for guests to relax and unwind whilst enjoying a drink any time of the day but especially to watch the sun go down over the Brisbane River.”
“It’s riverfront dining at its best.”
Cosimo says they couldn’t be happier with their new restaurant and their prime position at Portside Wharf.
“Portside Wharf continues to cement itself as a premier dining destination and has a unique mix of clientele with hundreds of residential apartments above the precinct as well as passengers from the Brisbane Cruise Ship Terminal – in excess of 200,000 a year,” he said.
“It is a beautiful location with a great vibe and our bar and steakhouse complements the flavours already on offer at Portside Wharf, and with so much development and construction planned for the Northshore Hamilton precinct, the opportunity to snap-up a rare, riverfront spot in this vibrant precinct was too good to pass up.”
The kitchen is headed by long-time chef, Mark Maric who comes to Belvedere from his own Brisbane bistro, Dish in Teneriffe.
Originally hailing from Sydney, Mark spent five years working with Aussie-food-royalty, Neil Perry at Rockpool and Rockpool Catering.
Belvedere is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. For more details phone 07 363 0411 or www.belvederebarngrill.com.au
